Zamarin Wahdat

Leikstjóri

Born in Afghanistan and raised in Germany, Zamarin attended NYU Tisch School of the Arts as a Dean’s fellow. Her work as a cinematographer screened at Sundance, Berlinale, SXSW and Tribeca. She recently received an Oscar for her work in “Learning how to Skate in a Warzone” (if you’re a girl) where she worked as a 2nd unit camera and interviewer. This experience led her to write and direct her first short film, “Bambirak”, exploring themes of identity, belonging and childhood and supported by the Hollywood Int. Press Association Fund. Zamarin’s work is based on subtle and intimate storytelling with a fascination for youth and magical realism. Zamarin is currently an ASC Vision Mentorship program participant.
