The Reykjav\u00edk International Film Festival (RIFF)<\/b> invites applications for the Work-in-Progress Showcase: Co-Production Forum, a showcase platform taking place during RIFF Industry Days on October 2, 2026.<\/p>

WIP brings together a selection of up to ten Nordic and Arctic film projects - currently in production or at rough cut stage - that are actively seeking co-producers. Selected projects will pitch to an invited audience of local and international producers and other industry professionals gathered specifically for this showcase, followed by structured one-to-one meetings and networking.<\/p>

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR<\/strong><\/p>

We are looking for bold, ambitious projects with a strong directorial vision that are at a stage where a co-production partner can make a meaningful difference. Projects do not need to be at the same stage of development \u2014 what matters is that co-production is a genuine and current need. We welcome fiction, documentary, hybrid, and experimental work from across the Nordic and Arctic regions. We are particularly interested in projects that engage with questions of ecology, political and social transformation, non-human perspectives, or new and urgent narrative forms (however, it is not a requirement).<\/p>

WHO CAN APPLY?<\/b>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>

Stage:<\/strong> Projects in production, late production, or at rough cut<\/p>

Origin:<\/strong> Projects (co-)produced in Iceland, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Greenland, or the Faroe Islands<\/p>

Seeking: <\/strong>Co-producers \u2014 this is the central criterion for WIP<\/p>

Form:<\/strong> Feature-length fiction, documentary, hybrid, or experimental film<\/p>

Team:<\/strong> At least one representative must be available to present in Reykjav\u00edk on October 2, 2026<\/p>

WHAT TO EXPECT?<\/strong><\/p>

Selected projects will take part in a pitch session before an audience of invited Icelandic, Nordic, and international producers and other industry professionals, followed by structured one-to-one meetings and an evening networking event. The event will also be livestreamed to a selected group of industry professionals joining the session remotely.<\/p>

Please note that RIFF Industry Days <\/b>does not cover travel or accommodation costs for WIP participants. We encourage applicants to explore support through their national film institutes.<\/p>
