The awards were presented at the festival&#039;s awards ceremony which took place at the M\u00e1ls og Menning Bookstore at 5 pm, while Lilja Alfre\u00f0sd\u00f3ttir, Minister of Education and Culture, formally closed the festival.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A total of six awards were given, including: <strong><em>Free men<\/em><\/strong><em> (Free Men)<\/em> by \u00d3skar Kristin Vignisson award for the best Icelandic short film. The Young People&#039;s Award was presented for the first time, but special NFTs were also presented alongside each award, making RIFF the first film festival in the world to enter the digital world of film.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jury&#039;s comment on the winning film <em>Moon, 66 Questions<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&quot;<strong><em>Moon, 66 Questions<\/em><\/strong> is a work that paints a multi-layered and captivating picture of love and reconciliation, secrets and painful truths, family ties and long-overdue freedom. A film that is not afraid to take risks, at once sharp and sincere, directed with a unique vision and brought to life by courageous and captivating performances.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Golden Puffin is awarded in the competition categories. <em>The wise<\/em>, consisting of a director&#039;s first or second film. Jury <em>The lights<\/em> consisted of Trine Dyrholm, actress and guest of honor at RIFF, Yorgos Krassakopoulos, program director of the Thessaloniki International Film Festival, Gagga J\u00f3nsd\u00f3ttir, filmmaker, An\u00edta Br\u00edem, actress, and G\u00edsli \u00d6rn Gar\u00f0arsson, actor and director.<\/p>\n<p>From the competition category <em>The wise <\/em>The films also received special recognition from the jury. <strong><em>Wild Men <\/em><\/strong><em>(Savage)<\/em> by Thomas Daneskov and <strong><em>Clara Sola<\/em> <\/strong>by Nathalie Alvarez Mes\u00e9n. <em>Clara Sola <\/em>also received a nomination from the Youth Jury.<\/p>\n<p>Awards in the program category <em>A Different Tomorrow program<\/em> received <strong><em>Zinder<\/em> <\/strong>by Aicha Macky. The Party <em>A Different Tomorrow program<\/em> consists of documentaries that deal in one way or another with environmental and\/or human rights issues.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Regret<\/em><\/strong> by Bj\u00f6rn R\u00fanarsson was chosen as the best Icelandic student film and <strong><em>Last chance<\/em><\/strong> by \u00c1sta S\u00f3l Kristj\u00e1nsd\u00f3ttir received special recognition from the jury in that category.<\/p>\n<p>Award for Best Film in the International Short Films category <strong><em>Strangers<\/em><\/strong> by Nora Longatti, but special recognition from the jury in the same category went to <strong><em>State of Elevation<\/em><\/strong> by Isabelle Prim. The world of the film is filled with violence, but there is still room for redemption. Through relationships and trust, people manage to lift each other to a higher level and make the world a better place. That is why the award goes to the competition category.&quot; <em>A Different Tomorrow program <\/em>to <strong><em>Zinder. <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Because she grew up in Zinder, the filmmaker is treated <strong>A\u00efcha Macky <\/strong>as an insider of the Kara-Kara people who grant her access to their lives.
