South Korean film producer, screenwriter, and director <\/span>Bong Joon-ho<\/span> will be honored at this year's Reykjav\u00edk International Film Festival, which begins at H\u00e1sk\u00f3lab\u00ed\u00f3 on September 26th and runs until the 6th. <\/span>oh<\/span>October. <\/span><\/p>\n

Two of his pictures, <\/span>Mother<\/span> and <\/span>The Host<\/span> will be shown at the festival and he will address the audience at the end of the latter's screening <\/span>via teleconferencing equipment <\/span>and answer their questions from the audience.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bong has been flying high in his filmmaking for years, as he is already the winner of three Oscars. <\/span>and numerous other awards <\/span>for his works that are considered to be characterized by internal conflicts <\/span>gender and <\/span>class<\/span> and <\/span>black tights<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

He immediately attracted attention for his cool, raspy voice in his debut, <\/span>Barking Dogs Never Bite<\/span> from 2000, and was met with critical acclaim for the next film<\/span> their<\/span>, gl<\/span>oh<\/span>the patrol <\/span>Memories of Murder<\/span> which was published three years later and <\/span>purely <\/span>shoveled guests into the cinemas, just like the monster movie <\/span>The Host<\/span> from 2006. <\/span><\/p>\n

His career took a turn in 2013 when he released his first film in English, the science fiction <\/span>Snowpiercer<\/span> which he followed up with the humorous horror <\/span>and the satire <\/span>Parasite<\/span> five years ago, but it is the most profitable movie in the history of any Korean film director.<\/span><\/p>\n
