Fr\u00ed\u00f0a D\u00eds M\u00f6ller represented Iceland in the SMART7 Jury<\/h3>

Fr\u00ed\u00f0a D\u00eds M\u00f6ller has been selected to represent Iceland in the international jury of the Smart7 Competition, held at the Thessaloniki International Film Festival.\nShe joined six other young jury members from partnering countries, who chose the winning film, awarded \u20ac5,000.\n

\nA newly graduated film student from Reykjav\u00edk, Fr\u00ed\u00f0a D\u00eds plans to continue her studies abroad. During her time in school, she worked on various projects and is especially proud of her graduation short film, which she wrote and directed.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\u201cHanami\u201d wins the Smart7 Award<\/h3>

This year\u2019s Smart7 Award for Best Film has been presented in Thessaloniki, and the winner is Hanami by Denise Fernandes.\n

\nThe film was praised \u201cfor its originality and its decolonial perspective. With a magical-realist sensibility, the director follows a young girl reflecting on Cabo Verde\u2019s past, present, and future \u2014 revealing the story of a community shaped by centuries of imperial domination.\u201d\n

\nRIFF\u2019s contribution to the competition category this year was Missir (Epilogues) by Ari Alexander Ergis Magn\u00fasson.\n<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
