A smiling group of cinema guests watched the timeless romantic comedy<\/span> When <\/span>Harry Met Sally\u2026<\/span> at the Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Swimming Pool last Thursday. The Swim-in marked <\/span>the beginning of the Winter Festival 2026 in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur and attracted well-deserved attention, both <\/span>from the public and the media, as the event was completely sold out.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Film screenings in swimming pools in the capital area have been a regular part of the Reykjav\u00edk International Film Festival\u2019s activities almost from the very beginning, as swimming pool culture is an indispensable part of Icelandic national life and culture. Likewise, Icelanders have always been enthusiastic film lovers, making it a natural fit to weave these two traditions together in this enjoyable way.<\/p>

Many memorable films have been made even more unforgettable through the experience of watching them in one of Reykjav\u00edk\u2019s and the surrounding area\u2019s swimming pools. Among the films that have been screened to great acclaim are Some Like It Hot<\/em>, The NeverEnding Story<\/em>, The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou<\/em>, Life of Pi<\/em>, Jaws<\/em> and The Truman Show<\/em>.<\/p>

In addition to the screening of When Harry Met Sally\u2026<\/em> the Swim-in featured live jazz music in the spirit of the film, performed by the jazz trio B\u00fabblubandi\u00f0. Actors Bjarni Kristbj\u00f6rnsson and G\u00faa Margr\u00e9t Bjarnad\u00f3ttir stepped into the roles of Harry and Sally, mingling throughout the unique premises of the Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Swimming Pool, while dancers performed graceful steps on the poolside. All of this came together to create a unique atmosphere that truly resonated with the audience.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
