Lit Flick: Pride and Prejudice<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This year\u2019s RIFF Lit Flick screening is Pride and Prejudice<\/em>, which took the world by storm when it was released in 2005 and continues to be hugely popular today. Like the novel it is based on, the film, directed by Joe Wright, has become a timeless classic. The film received four Academy Award nominations, including a nomination for Keira Knightley for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her portrayal of Elizabeth Bennet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The screening is presented in collaboration with the Jane Austen Fan Club of Iceland. Krist\u00edn Linda J\u00f3nsd\u00f3ttir, psychologist and chair of the club, will explore Jane Austen and ask: What is it about her work that continues to resonate with audiences today? Literary scholar and translator of Pride and Prejudice, Silja A\u00f0alsteinsd\u00f3ttir, will discuss the novel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In collaboration with NoJSE, RIFF presents a special selection of high-quality short films from the Nordic countries. NoJSE is a collaboration between five Nordic children\u2019s film festivals: Buster in Copenhagen, BUFF in Malm\u00f6, the International Children\u2019s Film Festival in Kristiansand, the Oulu International Children\u2019s Film Festival, and UngRIFF in Reykjav\u00edk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aim of the collaboration is to promote high-quality short films for children and young people, while also increasing access to Nordic films for filmmakers creating content for these age groups. This year, we are proud to announce that the Icelandic short film \u00cd TAKT by Hanna Huld<\/em> is part of this fantastic programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The films, together with accompanying educational materials, are also available on the Norden i Skolan educational platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
