Born and raised in Iqaluit, Nunavut, Andrea was introduced to Inuit animated films, legends, and myths at a young age when her mother, Louise Flaherty, co-owner of Taqqut Productions, often presented their projects. In 2016, Andrea started working for Inhabit Media as an Inuktitut editor and advisor for the pre-school children’s television show, Anaana’s Tent. Understanding the significance and importance of Inuktitut content, Andrea was motivated to create her first short film, Gnawer of Rocks.
