DESCRIPTION:Hefur þér einhvern tímann dottið í hug að horfa á bíómynd inni í jökli? Líklega ekki\, en í Jöklabíói RIFF býðst akkúrat það.Við förum inn í annan stærsta jökul Íslands\, Langjökul og horfum á nýja heimildamynd Lars Ostenfeld\, Inn í jökulinn\, sem í von um að komast að því hversu hratt ísbreiða Grænlands bráðnar\, fer 200 metra inn í ísbreiðuna – lengra en nokkur hefur farið áður. Hér er því á ferðinni einstakt tækifæri til að skilja og skynja jökla til hins ýtrasta og fá svör við aðkallandi spurningum um loftslag\, fortíð og framtíð. \nLagt verður af stað í rútu frá Ráðhúsi Reykjavíkur klukkan 8 að morgni þriðjudagsins 4. október. Stoppað verður hjá nokkrum náttúruperlum á leiðinni í Húsafell þar sem snæddur verður hádegismatur. Þaðan er keyrt upp í Klaka. Til að komast að íshellinum er farið á sérútbúnum jöklabílum yfir ísbreiðuna á Langjökli. Þar verður farið í könnunarferð um ísgöngin sem enda á bíósýningunni. Mikilvægt er að klæða sig vel.  \nÁætluð koma aftur til Reykjavíkur er um sjöleytið. Keyrt verður í gegnum Kaldadal í bakaleiðinni. \n\n\nHave you ever wondered how it would be to watch a film inside a glacier? Probably not\, but Ice Cave Cinema is just about that. We enter Langjökull\, Iceland’s second largest glacier and watch the new documentary\, Into the Ice\, directed by Lars Ostenfeld\, about Greenland’s melting ice sheet. Ostenfeld wants to know how fast the glacier melts but to find that out he descends 200 metres into the ice sheet – further than any human has gone before. This is therefore a unique opportunity to get a comprehensive image of glaciers and get answers to urgent questions about climate\, the future and the past. \nWe depart at 8 a.m. on Tuesday\, October 4th\, from Reykjavík’s City Hall. We’ll stop to do some sightseeing on the way to Húsafell where we’ll have lunch. From there we’ll drive to Klaki. To get to the man-made ice tunnel and caves\, located high up in a remote area of the glacier\, we ride in a huge specially modified truck. We’ll go on an amazing journey into the ice tunnel which ends with the film screening. Remember to dress warmly. \nThe scheduled arrival back to Reykjavík is around 7 p.m. We’ll drive through Kaldidalur on the way back.
