A top selection of films will be shown at Bíó Paradís and The Nordic House. Please note that tickets are limited but tickets for both online and venue can be bought through www.riff.is

RIFF is held for the 17th time and the program is truly varied this year bringing viewers brand new films straight from big film festivals such as Cannes, Venice, San Sebastian and Locarno. The directors are some of the best in the trade and our films feature stars such as Frances McDormand, Mads Mikkelsen, Björk and Dylan Gelula.

Among the films this year are Another Round by Thomas Vinterberg starring Mads Mikkelsen, Nomadland by Chloe Zhao, winner of The Golden Lion at Venice Film Festival. 200 Metres by Ameen Nayfeh, receiving the audience awards at Venice Film Festival and I am a Greta by Nathan Grossman that recently premiered in Venice.

The program holds 110 films both feature films and documentaries including world premieres and many Scandinavian premiers. The festival will show films from 47 countries including Spain, South-Africa, Lesotho, Italy, Greenland, Malta and many more. Many Icelandic films will also be premiered at the festival.

RIFF will host a real drive-in cinema this year screening a varied program over four days. A special Cinema bus will also drive around the country and bring both children and adults quality films including European short films and the world known film Dancer in the Dark.

Industry days will also be hybrid this year with both online program and onsite in The Nordic House. Work in progress, women in Icelandic TV and film and more interesting panels will be held.
