Synopsis
A fourteen-year-old boy, whose Mum plans on selling his deceased Dad’s Datsun, decides to take his best friend and little brother on one last joyride.
Director’s Bio

Born in Wellington, New Zealand, Mark Albiston has developed a reputation at home for making innovative TV programmes about New Zealand’s artists and creative scene. His films, which focus predominantly on the topics of childhood, youth and coming of age, have already screened a number of times in Berlinale Generation, most recently in 2013 with Shopping (co-directed by Louis Sutherland) which won the Grand Prix of the International Jury in the Generation 14plus section.
Datsun, his latest movie, won the Audience Award at New Zealand International Film Festival 2021 and then was selected at Berlinale Generation 2022 and at SXSW – South by Southwest Film Festival 2022.
