Synopsis
When the Chinese government bans and denounces their faith, activists hatch a plan to hack into state TV. A comic book illustrator is forced to flee in the aftermath of the heist. Now overseas, he retraces the collective memories of the event and brings it to life through his art
Director’s Bio
A Peabody Award-winning filmmaker and four-time Canadian Screen Award nominee, Jason’s work spans documentary, VR, games, and animation. His directorial debut, the documentary Ask No Questions, premiered at Slamdance in 2020. His follow-up, Eternal Spring (長春), premiered this March at Thessaloniki, winning two awards. It won both top audience prizes at Hot Docs and a dozen awards through spring 2022.
