In 2019 Emma Branderhorst graduated as a director from the Utrecht School of the Arts. During her studies, she has worked several times as a director’s assistant at larger Dutch film productions and has worked as a casting director for many years. Emma is enthusiastic, passionate and fights for what is close to her heart. She is a progressive feminist and is fascinated by themes like youth and education, which she looks at from a female perspective. Her short film ‘Onderhuids’ had its international premiere at Berlinale Generation 2020 and won a Wildcard at the Netherlands Film Festival. Emma is currently developing several films and also directs commercials.
