Synopsis
The village is brimming with stories and if you listen closely it might tell you a few. Perhaps the one about the businessman who dreams in Latin, or the one about the delicate boy who carves moorland birds, or maybe the one of the open air sexual affair that has explosive consequences.
Director’s Bio
Elfar Adalsteins is an Icelandic born director, screenwriter and producer. He studied filmmaking at MetFilm School and screenwriting at Royal Holloway. As well as developing homegrown projects through his Reykjavík based production company, Berserk Films,
His short film Sailcloth, starring late renowned actor John Hurt, received several international accolades and was shortlisted for the 2012 Academy Awards Oscars and BAFTA. Elfar’s feature film directorial debut, End of Sentence was released in 2019 to critical acclaim. In his next release, ‘Summerlight & then comes the night’, Elfar directs an all Icelandic ensemble cast from his screenplay adaptation of Jón Kalman Stefánsson’s celebrated eponymous novel.
