All about RIFF
This year's program will be published and our ticket sale for individual tickets will start on Tuesday 21. September at 13:00 a clock.
In addition to all our regular categories a special focus this year will be on Music in film and The Netherlands with a magnificent selection of brand-new Dutch films that have attracted attention at international film festivals as well as a number of Dutch short films will be shown at Dutch Focus as well as the The One Minute Series in RIFF around town.
The majority of the screenings will take place in Bio Paradis and The Nordic House. Passes and clipcards are for sale here and individual tickets will be available around middle of September. But individual events will take around the city TBA.

This year’s festival will focus on music in films, by showing a number of music films as well as having special events related to music in films. There will be a takeover at Loft Hostel with special events with musicians and comedians and much more.
RIFF@Home
Can’t make it to Reykjavik this year, but you still want to experience RIFF? No worries. We present RIFF-Home, where you will be able to stream a big part of the festival program in the conform of your home.
You will enjoy the films on a high-quality website, the same that is used at a number of other well-known film festivals, e.g., CPH DOX, Midnight Sun in Finland, Galway Film Fleath and Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland.
Industry Days
Industry Days will take place in The Nordic House where Icelandic film producers will be able to introduce their work to the International industry.
Dutch Focus
Special Events
An amazing selection of special events will be on offer at this years festival such as the Drive In – Cinema where films will be projected on a large screen and people can enjoy from the comfort and safety in their car.
Cave Cinema just outside of Reykjavík where you combine an adventure in nature and cinema in a colorful cave.
Swim-In Cinema has always been one of the most popular special events at RIFF through the years. We don’t mean to brag, but we do make sure it’s extra special each year with unexpected events and a unique atmosphere! This year will be no different.
The Cinema Bus will be on the roll around the city bringing film into various neighbourhoods.
RIFF XR
The boundary between film and virtual reality gets smaller with every year and this year at RIFF our guests can experience first hand films that use virtual reality as a part of the film.
Childrens Program
As usual no age group is left out nor forgotten. At RIFF there is a great diverse selection of films for different age groups. All free of charge and brought to all schools and nurseries. A few schools will also be invited to the cinema
