The schedule for Industry Days at RIFF 2023.

RIFF's Industry Days will take place between October 3rd and 7th 2023. A great program for film professionals and students and cinephiles alike. 

Don't miss out on enlightening panel discussions on topics such as co-production and distribution at film festivals and master talks with honored guests like Isabelle Huppert, Luc Jacquet, and Luca Guadagnino

The Industry Days pass is only 4,990 ISK for professionals and students in the film industry, and it includes access to over 20 unique events, which you can read more about below. 

Film industry professionals and film students can also purchase a festival pass at RIFF, which is valid for all the festival's films and includes access to all 20 Industry Days events in addition to the screenings.

This pass is available at the price of 17,990 ISK for film industry professionals and 12,990 Icelandic króna for film students and those studying film.

Lights! Camera! DISTRIBUTION! - Festival strategy & Distribution for Emerging Filmmakers

Discussions specifically aimed at young and emerging filmmakers about the process that takes place after a film is completed and is sold and distributed to film festivals.

Panelists: Christian Jeune, head of the film department of the Cannes Film Festival, Maud Amson, director of sales and operations at the Marché du Film, the world’s largest film market, Alessandro Raja, CEO and co-founder of FestivalScope, Bruno Muñoz, head of the short film program at Cannes and Frederic Boyer, program director at RIFF. RIFF Talks

Young and promising filmmakers come forward and give short talks in the vein of TedX Talks, with the aim of inspiring film students and young filmmakers. Panelists include Ninna Pálmadóttir, director and screenwriter, Sol Berruezo, director and screenwriter, Þorsteinn Sturla Gunnarsson, director and screenwriter, Kári Úlfsson, producer, and Arndís Ey, costume designer.

An open talk with Gísli Snær Erlingsson

The new director of the Icelandic Film Centre, Gísli Snær Erlingsson, will answer questions at RIFF on October 2nd at 4 PM in the Nordic House and discuss his future vision for the organization. Representatives of Icelandic professional associations will ask him questions and panelists include Anton Máni Svansson, Margrét Örnólfsdóttir, Ragnar Bragason and Steingrímur Dúi.

RIFF and BIODICE Symposium

Masterclass with Luc Jacquet, followed by a symposium on the impact of films on the protection of biodiversity and climate change in collaboration with BIODICE, an association of organizations working to promote and understand biodiversity in Iceland. The Minister of the Environment, Guðlaugur Þór Þórðarson, will present Luc Jacquet with RIFF's environmental award, the Green Puffin, for his contribution to environmental issues and filmmaking. The event is open to everyone, and admission is free.

Panelists include: Luc Jacquet, Guðlaugur Þór Þórðarson, Andri Snær Magnason, Hafdís Hanna Ægisdóttir and Unnur Björnsdóttir.
