Reykjavik International Film Festival is now accepting applications for three internship periods during the 2026 season. All internships take place on-site in downtown Reykjavík, Iceland and are suitable for students seeking Erasmus+ placements or similar practical training projects.

Early Season Internship

Start date: February
Duration: 3–6 months
Number of positions: 2
Departments: Social Media, Graphic Design
Application deadline: January 10th

We are looking for two interns to join our team at the start of February, with experience in social media or graphic design. Early season interns assist the production team in preparing for the 2026 festival edition (September 24–October 4) and support various pre-festival events, including screenings, workshops, special events, and community programmes.

This period is ideal for students who want to take part in early festival planning and contribute to RIFF’s year-round cultural activities.

Full Season Internship
Start date: Mid April
Duration: 6 months (until after the festival)
Departments: Social Media, Graphic Design, Program Department, Production
Application deadline: February 2nd

We are seeking interns who can join us in mid-April and stay for a full six-month internship, ending after the festival concludes. Positions are available in social media, graphic design, web design, programming, and production.

Full-cycle interns play a crucial role throughout the festival’s busiest planning phase and into the festival itself. This is our most comprehensive internship period, ideal for candidates who are passionate about the inner workings of film festivals and want to engage with multiple stages of the planning cycle, from early development to the final festival outcome.

Festival Season Internship
Start date: Mid July
Duration: 3 months (until after the festival)
Departments: Photography & Videography, Guest Office, Print Traffic / Tech, Web
Application deadline: May 11th

Our summer season focuses on festival execution. We are looking for interns who can begin in mid-July and stay through the festival. Positions are available in photography, videography, guest office operations, and print traffic/technical support. This period is ideal for students who want to be in the middle of the action during the festival’s most intensive months.

Applications for all positions are now open on RIFF’s website (riff.is), Erasmus intern website (erasmusintern.org), and through our Eventival page.
