GOODG JOOhN HO honored on RIFF
Holder of thstill Academy Award
South Korean film producer, screenwriter, and director Bong Joon-ho will be honored at this year's Reykjavík International Film Festival, which begins at Háskólabíó on September 26th and runs until the 6th. ohOctober.
Two of his pictures, Mother and The Host will be shown at the festival and he will address the audience at the end of the latter's screening via teleconferencing equipment and answer their questions from the audience.
Bong has been flying high in his filmmaking for years, as he is already the winner of three Oscars. and numerous other awards for his works that are considered to be characterized by internal conflicts gender and class and black tights.

He immediately attracted attention for his cool, raspy voice in his debut, Barking Dogs Never Bite from 2000, and was met with critical acclaim for the next film their, glohthe patrol Memories of Murder which was published three years later and purely shoveled guests into the cinemas, just like the monster movie The Host from 2006.
His career took a turn in 2013 when he released his first film in English, the science fiction Snowpiercer which he followed up with the humorous horror and the satire Parasite five years ago, but it is the most profitable movie in the history of any Korean film director.
Parasite won both the Palme d'Or at Cannes 2019 and the Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Original Screenplay.
