Research has shown that women who have experienced sexual violence are the largest single group of those living with post-traumatic stress disorder, and support can be vital in working through the consequences of the violence.
The goals of Stígamóta are to empower and support victims of sexual violence by providing tools and coping strategies to deal with trauma so that people feel safe and do not live alone with the experience.
