Long horror film weekend at RIFF.is
RIFF presents with great pleasure five new horror movies that will be shown only this weekend, starting at midnight tonight, Wednesday and until midnight Sunday on the website, riff.is. All of these are brand new films from the year 2020. The Turkish film The hunt (The Hunt, is about a woman who is persecuted by her family; To the surface (Breaking Surface is Swedish/Norwegian and is about half-sisters who get trapped in a rockfall; Get the Hell Out is from Taiwan and talks about a deadly virus, Peninsula comes from South Korea and is about zombies and Sputnik is Russian and is about a Soviet spaceship and dangerous accessories. Horror and mystery films have long been established as a part of film festivals around the world, and such films are in the spotlight here. The emphasis is on Nordic horror mixed with works from different parts of the world that highlight the diversity of horror in all its bloody glory.
Due to Covid and other shocks that are currently affecting the country and nation, it was decided to hold a screening over the weekend on riff.is of the most popular Icelandic documentaries that were shown at the recent festival; Lobster Soup, The Circus Master, Against the Stream and The Third Pole, as well as Great documentaries about Helmut Newton, Alvar Aalto and Rockville will remain on display until Sunday evening.
Ticket prices are set at a reasonable price and the film can be watched for 30 hours after it is rented.

Get the Hell Out
Wang Yo-wei works as a security guard in the parliament, where he is considered a wretch and useless. One day, he is involved in an accident that costs Congressman Xiong Ying-Ying his seat in the parliament. The congressman asks Wang to run in the next election on the condition that he becomes his right-hand man. Wang is elected, and thus the wretch becomes a congressman. However, a deadly virus soon breaks out in the parliament, turning all the infected congressmen into zombies. To everyone's surprise, Wang turns out to be the only one immune to the virus. With Xiong by his side, Wang manages to both break out and save lives!

One day in the new session, as a fatal virus is spreading inside the parliament, the MPs are infected and become zombies! Strangely, Wang proves to be the only one immune to the virus. Together with Xiong, they not only fight their way out but save many lives!
Sputnik
At the height of the Cold War, a Soviet spaceship crashes after a failed mission, leaving the mission commander the sole survivor of the crew. After a renowned Russian psychologist is brought in to assess the commander's mental health, it becomes clear that something dangerous may have followed him back to Earth.

Breaking Surface
A few days after Christmas, Swedish/Norwegian half-sisters Ida and Tuva go on a diving expedition off the Norwegian coast. Towards the end of the expedition, a rock slide occurs, trapping Tuva underwater. When Ida returns to the surface and tries to call for help, she discovers that the rock slide has also occurred on land, and all of their equipment, including phones and car keys, has been buried. The sisters are completely helpless and have no way of calling for help. A desperate fight for survival begins that will be the ultimate test of Ida's skill and resourcefulness. As Ida struggles to save her sister, the flaws in their relationship are exposed, and when all seems lost, it becomes clear that there is much more at stake.

As the frantic race for survival unfolds, Ida is put to the ultimate test of character and strength. During Ida's fight to save Tuva, a fractured sisterhood is exposed, and when all seems lost, the stakes rise beyond simple survival.
