Director’s Bio

film director portrait
My name is Hörður Skúlason and I’m 22 years old. I have made a total of 3 shorts and they are all very different. The first short I made is called the tourist. It is a movie about a time traveler that goes back in time to prevent horrific crimes. In the film he stalks a woman who is about to get kidnapped, he then ends up falling in love with her. My second short film starts out with a college kid who goes out to party with his friends. He then gets jumped in the bathroom by wannabe gangsters looking for his brother, and they hurt him horribly. His brother, an ex-criminal, went awol after stealing the crime boss’s money. Tries to make amends with the boss but things go horribly wrong. and the third is this one Dimmviðri. I wanted to make Dimmviðri with Sigurgeir, because I loved the idea that he had for it. It involves the sea and fishermen. And since I am the only man in my family who’s not a fisherman, I had to make this film to make up for it. Currently I am a bartender and a freelancer for Icelandic productions. i have been producing some commercials and TV. and just recently i finished my first feature length script. an old viking saga about anger, loss, family and forgiveness
