Director’s Bio

Francesco Lorusso (Italy, 1993) studied philosophy and semiotics for cinema and new media. In 2018 he co-founded Broga Doite Film, for which he directs and post-produces documentaries and short films. „Men are hungry too“ (2019), produced by Fondazione AAMOD (with the collaboration of Istituto Luce-Cinecittà) won Premio Zavattini and was premiered at IDFA 2019 and selected in several festivals (MakeDox, Medfilm Festival, Festival del Cinema Europeo Lecce). In 2020 he directed and edited „Wavesland“, produced by Apulia Film Commission and selected in numerous international festivals (ShorTS International Film Festival, BUFF Malmö, Busan International Kids & Youth Film Festival). He also co-created the film collective Broga’s, for which he directs various audiovisual productions, including „IO|OI“ (2021), produced by Torino Piemonte Film Commission and Piemonte dal Vivo and premiered at 39. Torino Film Festival.
